April Ellis
Nursery Coordinator
Email: april.ellis@nbumc.org

April has a ministry heart for families with small children.  With two children of her own, she knows firsthand that they need to be supported and loved.  She never sees her role as a baby-sitter but one who would partner with parents to lead each child to knowing Jesus as his/her personal Savior.  With that vision and years of teaching children of all ages, she delights in creating and teaching the nursery curriculum for infants through pre-kindergarteners.  She is a firm proponent of child safety; as such, she firmly enforces the church’s Safe Sanctuary initiatives.  April worships at New Beginnings with her husband, Sean Ellis and their children, Hope and Faith.

Betty Hart
New Beginnings Christian Academy Director
Email: betty.hart@nbumc.org

Betty knows the realities of being a part of children’s lives.  Having raised three children and now helping them raise theirs, she fulfills her role as the Director of New Beginnings Christian Academy with passion and poise.  She leads NBCA not just as a business entity, but as a ministry.  This had led to NBCA’s development into one of the best Christian childcare and preschool centers in the region.  Betty graduated from the West Virginia Wesleyan College with a BA in Psychology and Sociology and has a passion for working with special needs children and Alzheimer’s patients.  Despite her hectic schedule at New Beginnings and time devoted to helping raise her five grandchildren, she is close to completing her work on a Masters in Education degree.
