Leadership

Steering Team

The steering team’s purpose is to ensure that the church’s efforts are in tune with its mission and vision.  The team includes the pastor, the team leader, Core Ministry Area leaders and administrative team leaders. With the Senior Pastor’s spiritual guidance, the Steering team formulates the church’s goals and objectives for the year, while the CMA leaders act as liaison between the ministry and church leaders.  They may also serve as advisors for the various ministries under their care and help direct the activities to ensure their success.

The Steering Team Leader oversees and orchestrates the initiatives from each Core Ministry Area (CMA) to keep them aligned with the church’s goals, while staying true to the church’s overall mission and vision.  Other areas of responsibility include working with each of the administrative teams to obtain feedback and advice from them in order to guide the Steering Team planning and decision making.  This team leader also presides over church policy formation and ensures that it is adhered to.

Core Ministry Areas

The Maturity CMA oversees the functions and initiatives that cater to the church’s spiritual growth and development.  The ministries under this CMA encompass the adult, youth and children ministries.  It also assists the Associate Pastor with guiding and developing the activities of the Sunday school, Bible Study classes and L.I.F.E. Groups.

The Membership CMA is devoted to the welfare and well-being of the church’s members.  Their efforts include hospital visitations and hosting church wide events that cater specifically to members, such as the Christmas dinner.  The team administers the Membership 101 class and works with the senior pastor to follow-up with prospective members.  It also directs initiatives to increase and retain church membership.  The CMA also oversees the church’s Hospitality ministry.

The Ministry CMA oversees ministry development efforts of the church.  It helps ministry leaders with the formation and nurturing of their ministries before they are handed over to the respective CMA leaders for their continued nurturing and support.  This CMA also administers the Spiritual Gifts classes to identify areas where church members can effectively serve in the church and it leads efforts to minister to the church and ministry leaders.

The Outreach CMA coordinates efforts to make the church visible and relevant to the community.  Community-wide events such as Trunk ‘R Treat and Eggstravaganza are organized by this team.  Their initiatives include partnering with other local or regional agencies to ensure that the church’s outreach efforts are effective.   The team also identifies potential mission trips, within the country or the world, where members can serve the needs of others.  The Outreach team, under the advisement of the senior pastor, maintains a rapport with missionaries or mission organizations supported by New Beginnings.

The Worship CMA oversees and executes all matters that relate to worship activities, coordinating with the Senior Pastor and Worship Leader to make worship an exciting, meaningful experience for all. This team handles any logistics issues, such as usher training, room set up and audio visual needs, to ensure that the sanctuary or other worship facilities provide an atmosphere conducive to worship.  It also oversees the worship program developed and presented by the Music and Drama ministries and Kidsplosion!.
