Greetings –
November is going to be busy, busy, busy! One of the most important events is a New Beginnings 101 class at 12:15pm November 5th for those who desire to know more about our church. RSVP to the office (770-421-9980) is appreciated so we can prepare a sufficient amount of lunch. Ticket sales and sign-up begin that same Sunday for our Annual Christmas Party.
I hope everyone can come to Kennesaw UMC for a District Charge Conference at 3pm on November12th. Our District Superintendent wants as many NBUMC people as possible as he honors those we have lost the past year (Gene and Polly Fox) and highlight our Red Bird Mission Trip to Kentucky. We will celebrate with seven other UMCs from our area.
Many of us are going to White Oak Campground for a Native American Pow-wow and worship service in Harlem, GA on Saturday November 18th. We will meet with Native Americans from across Georgia and South Carolina. There will be regalia dress, drumming, dancing, food, worship, and is well worth the drive. Gathering begins at 10:30am and worship begins at 11am with lunch to follow immediately afterwards. Free admission, but a love offering will be collected for Native American United Methodist students of North Georgia.
In addition to these events, Holly and I have a personal family blessing of our son Joel and our new daughter in-law Lindsay coming to visit us during Thanksgiving. I do not know how long or whether they will be able to attend worship with us, but one thing I do know—we are truly thankful that our Gracious God has sent us a wonderful new daughter in-law and such a loving, caring church!
